Q: What is the difference between Fishers Fire District and Fishers Volunteer Fire Association?

Fishers Fire District is a municipal entity governed by an elected Board of Fire Commissioners that finances the delivery of emergency services through taxation.   This tax money provides for two fire stations, all the apparatus and equipment used in the delivery of these services and the overall operational expenses of running the district.

Fishers Volunteer Fire Association is the volunteer organization within the district that provides personnel to deliver the emergency services.  The Fire Association is funded through its annual fund drive.  The operations of the Fire Association are under the direction of 6 business officers elected annually by the Association membership.

Q:  How can I become a contributing member of Fishers Fire Association?

You can obtain a membership application by either stopping at one of the fire stations between 8:00am and 4:00pm or by calling one of following telephone numbers:   585-924-3451 or 585-924-5955.  Someone from the Association's membership committee will then get in touch with you.
